A lifelong athlete, Matt grew up playing soccer, football, and eventually transitioned to ice hockey full time around age 13. He went on to play at the NCAA level at Worcester State University outside of Boston. Since the conclusion of his hockey career, he has delved deep into the world of grappling and is an active Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner and competitor. As Matt was coming up he was inspired by a number of his trainers and strength coaches, all of whom pushed him past his perceived physical limits in the gym and to be his best self both on and off the ice. This is the message he instills in all the athletes he works with.
Matt doesn’t just aim to motivate, he inspires athletes of all ages and skill levels to improve athletic performance, achieve and exceed goals and reach the height of their potential. His goal as a strength coach and personal trainer is to build better people as well as better athletes. He has worked with several high-end hockey prospects and has experience working with grapplers but is open to working with athletes of any and all sports.
